Control System and Machinery Design.

I can provide control system and machinery design services or consultation on
a wide range of systems – from the simple: HVAC fan control – to complex
multiple motor inverter drive systems, which can be controlled by any
variation of methods. From simple, discrete push-button controls to PLC
systems, all the way up to fully integrated, plant-wide motion control and
system integration using discrete controls, HMI touchscreens or a PC system as
appropriate.

My extensive experience across multiple sites and countries has given me the
knowledge to ascertain the methods best suited to the level of operator
expertise and the levels of automation required for any given machine or
process.

I have designed controls for various sectors including oil, gas and
manufacturing, so am well-placed to offer bespoke solutions for complex
machinery in environments that demand the highest levels of quality
assurance in order to get things right from the outset.

I have provided the following design services for complex machinery and
plant installation.

  • Umbilical manufacturing plant layouts
  • Machinery specification and selections
  • 2200 and 4000 tonne carousels
  • 360 tonne underolls and reel systems
  • Horizontal laying-up machines
  • Armouring lines
  • S-Z lines
  • Extrusion lines – both entire new plant and upgrades
  • Computer-based extrusion logging to conform to ISO13628s requirements(API17e)s
  • Computerised test equipments
  • Subsea trenching tool control designs
  • Long length borescope/endoscope miniature camera systems to allow inspection up to 200 metres
